Eddie "Rochester" Anderson got his start in showbiz as a dancer, but it was his gravely voice that made him a star. He played Jack Benny's butler Rochester on his radio and television show, and quickly became a fan-favorite. He also portrayed his Rochester character as a guest in other programs, including Milton Berle's show and Bachelor Father.
