With Christmas approaching and everyone winding down for the holidays, time is precious and attention spans are short so I'll keep this brief.

With most people's thoughts on Christmas, their thoughts and hearts and wallets are focused on presents. While the iPod will probably beat out the new Elmo doll as the most purchased gift, flat screen TV's seem to be a hugely popular item this year as I've seen many of them rolling through parking lots this year.




As usual, video games are a huge seller and an easy way to make you a favourite of your teenaged relative without having to put much thought into it. This year has been especially popular in video game circles because of the Playstation 3 and the Nintendo Wii launches (love those, "Wii would like to play" ads).

For those of you who are looking to get a game for a loved one, here's a link to a site which has done a year in review on video games and is giving out its annual awards. The awards will not all be handed out until the 23rd but looking at the nominees, you can narrow down your search for that perfect game or at least get a clue as to what the kids like these days.
