This past week on the BITE podcast, Jay and Matt welcomed adult film star Nikki Benz and it got my mind going about other famous stars of the adult variety. Porn is one of those industries that will always be part of our culture and just tends to get bigger and bigger. No other industry benefited more from the introduction of the internet than the porn industry and it has created a number of stars over the years. Have you ever played that game to find our what your porn name would be? You take the name of the first pet you ever owned and the street you grew up on, for me I would go by the screen name of "Tiger McNickel".
But the toughest challenge of any porn star is staying power. Hot chicks with big boobs are a dime a dozen. There are many, what I call, x factors, to the job. Yes you gotta have the boobs and the figure, you have to have the pipes for those loud moans (you can't have the boom pole in the shot, mainly because she's usually got one already in her mouth). The whole package when it comes together is a lasting star that leaps off the screen and creates a franchise around them. Here are the standout performers of our generation:
SHANNON TWEED
I thought I'd start off with some Canadian content, the pride of Newfoundland, Shannon Tweed. The focal point of the "Baby Blue 2" series (when was "Baby Blue 1"?), Tweed has starred in such classics as "The Rowdy Girls", "Dead Sexy" and of course playing the Lesbian hitwoman in the 2002 blockbuster "Wish You Were Dead". Tweed is also well known as the wife of Gene Simmons, the man who claims he has slept with more women than Wilt Chamberlain. What a couple. Next year Tweed will hit 40 and has already been playing the MILF role for some time, many insiders feel she has already climaxed (as opposed to insiders that played her opposite in some of these films). Definitely a pioneer to this generation and one that stood up for, and consequently lay down for many of the porn stars of tomorrow.
JENNA JAMESON
From the past to the present, Jenna Jameson has seen it all, done it all and sucked it all on camera since making her debut in 1994 as Betty Blueballs in "Cherry Pie". I've never been a devout follower of Ms. Jameson but her landmark performances in hits such as ""Smells like...Sex", "Up and Cummers 17" and brought back for the critically acclaimed "Up and Cummers 20", "On Her Back", "I Love Lesbians", "Cum One, Cum All", "Jenna's Built for Speed", "Dirty Bob's Xcellent Adventures", "Blown Away", "Last Man Standing"...and "Nash Bridges", have made her one of the most diverse and well rounded actresses of this decade. Today Jameson is learning technqiues such as "Ground and Pound", "Rear Naked Chokes", "Side Mounts" and "Cage control" from her new boyfriend, UFC fighter Tito Ortiz. Jameson has been training with Ortiz in California for a number of months, primarily her stand up as her ground game is solid. It figures she would choose a sport where being on your back isn't a bad thing.
JESSE JANE
Jane is the current "it" girl in the porn world as the 26-year old star has become one of the most popular porn stars in decades. She came onto the scene...in 2003 as "Officer Chole" in "Busty Cops", a movie that was banned by critics, with the exception of Ebert and Roeper, who gave it "everything up". Jane was featured in 2005 in the second season of "Entourage" as herself, who has sex with a internet comic reviewer, so that lead character Vinny Chase wouldn't get a bad review. She is definitely on the rise.
MARY CAREY
Carey gained her most fame by coming from behind...in the 2003 California Gubernational election where she eventually lost to current Governor, Republican Arnold Schwarzenegger. Carey had a strong following in a race that featured 3 pages worth of names, including Gary Coleman. Carey is a star from the "Pussyman's Dreams" series of epics and has also been a part of "Asses in the Air 14", "More Than a Handful 2", "5 Guys Cream Pie 5", "Tit Happens", and the 2005 cult hit "Lick My Balls". Carey has become a bit of a charity celebrity, hanging out with some recluses such as Joanie Laurer, a.k.a Chyna, formerly of the WWE. If she ditch the hanger on, maybe she'll be open to more work.
PARIS HILTON
How could I leave out Paris? This chick has made a name for herself the same way as the above actresses as, only she's been sneaky about it, CLAIMING that these video's were magically "stolen" from her house. I call "Bullshit" on Miss. Hilton and follow up it up with a giant "Fuck you" for trying to take money out of the hands of these women that precede you. Have some damn respect for the industry Paris and pay your dues. You are a done nothing, dead beat that was born with a silver spoon and still it isn't enough for you. Not to mention she isn't even very hot, forget night vision, I wish I had no vision when I saw those clips. Paris is a fraud and can star in my own movie in production..."Go F*ck Yourself".
