SATURDAY MORNING RETRO: Childhood Movies

So I was walking to school on a breezy day, when all of a sudden it started to SNOW. Now I don't know if you're like me, but I get PRETTY excited when I see snow. Snow = Holidays, no school, yellow snow, presents, snowballs fights with seniors, ice swords fights with 6 year old kids, poorly built wannabe igloos, hot chocolate, "tuque" and all sorts of other stuff...

When I see snow I think of the few days before Christmas rolls along and I have a little tradition that I do with my cousins. We watch HOURS of old holiday movies. I know it's pretty sad, but you know what what else is sadder than me watching movies with my cousins? YOU READING MY BLOG! HAHAHAHA! ( I kid.)

Anyways, we like to start off our holidays by kicking it old school by watching Home Alone part 1 and 2. I don't even want to talk about the third version. If it's not Maculay, then f*ck you.

HOME ALONE 1 & 2

I don't know what it is, but the Home Alone series is just PURE fun. I'm sure everyone DREAMED of having a HOME ALONE Christmas. I know I did, for several years of my childhood life. The fact that you got to run away from your family, eat like a slob, spends thousands of dollars at your parents expense, make ONE scary friend who saves your life, end up reuniting with your family and getting tons of amazing presents at the end just makes me happy. Oh yeah, building deadly traps around your house is cool too.

A Charlie Brown Christmas

This is definitely a MUST for anyone who owns a television. I don't know what it is, but the dancing scene with everyone scares me. They were doing the same moves over and OVER again, like they were on some sort of drug.

So Charlie Brown's goal was to buy a nice looking Christmas tree and he messes up. What a dumbass. But the good part of this movie was the soundtrack. It just melted everyone's hearts didn't it? Oh hells yeah it did.

How the Grinch stole Christmas

I'm not talking about the JIM CAREY version. This is the 1966 animated version. I like this movie. It's short. Everything rhymes. Tim Curry plays the Grinch. It's a classic.

Why the hell am I talking about Christmas in October? Isn't Halloween in 2 and a half weeks?!

Our take on the world, is funny and skewed we admit it. We talk about Jessica Simpson, nipple rings, politics, girls, hot girls, Britney Spears and all the rest of the wacky and weird.
