You'd think that since Chris Cornell has sobered up, put out a new album with his band Audioslave and co-wrote the theme song for the new Bond flick that he'd be riding high. Heck, he's even got a solo record on the way. Instead, he's having to deal with constant death threats against his kids and wife and even a near miss with a truck!
While the wife was watching her often-trashy celebrity TV shows, I caught a story that Cornell has received numerous death threats in the past two years. Apparently the threats are against his wife and more specifically his kids and come via email and regular post. Starting back in 2004 when Cornell's wife was six months pregnant with their second child, the threats are even detailed in the method of how they will carry out the violent acts.
This has rattled the family so much that Cornell has installed an expensive and high-tech security system in their home with multiple cameras and even an on-site security guard 24/7. There is no known motive aside from the notion that this offender is quite possibly insane, jealous and undoubtedly dangerous.

To add insult to injury, last Tuesday (October 24th), Cornell was hit by a truck while riding his motorcycle in Los Angeles. Luckily, he walked away from the crash with only severe cuts and bruises but his bike was not so lucky. The $50,000 Exile Chopper was destroyed beyond repair. It's reported that he continued recording his forth-coming solo album that same day.
You can listen to the 007 theme song, "You Know My Name" on
his MySpace site which includes pictures from the video shoot for the song. There's also a fantastic live cover version of Bob Marley's "Redemption Song" on said site that you MUST listen to!
