Taken from a news release on www.guesscanada.com:
Paul Marciano said, “Paris has the Guess life style and the qualities of Guess girls. She is mysterious, attractive, charismatic, and energetic. Every girl wants to be like her.”

?
Before everyone goes up in arms, let’s consider these points:
The girl is filthy rich. She can afford to buy the 600-dollar Louis Vuitton top, she can blow thousands of dollars on anything she wants whenever she wants. If she goes to a restaurant and is pissed off by the food quality, she can get a new meal, she can get five new meals, she can buy the restaurant and no one can tell her not to, because she’s Paris Hilton. She can throw hissy fits at random in front of whoever she pleases and always get her way, because she’s Paris Hilton. She can stick as many chihuahuas in her twelve-inch purse as she wants and everybody will pass it off as oh well, whatever, because she’s Paris Hilton. The poor homeless lady on the subway who tried to do that in her carpetbag got shunned and glared at.
Thing is, she’s by and large the Whore of pop culture, and hearing a statement like that instantly makes us go, what the hell is he talking about? But when we look at it that way, which girl wouldn’t want to be like her? She has the world at her fingertips – she can pay for it.
Of course, however, no girl wants to have a rep like Paris’ (as Conan O’Brien once said, and I paraphrase, “what Paris Hilton does when she’s mad at someone: doesn’t have sex with them as often”) – well, with the exception of this friend I used to have. I think I made a comment, “you’re acting like Paris Hilton” (in reference to a conversation about a party she went to where she vaguely remembers making herself available to a number of different guys), and she said, “what’s wrong with that?”
Come to think of it, I don’t think I’ve ever seen her with a Guess bag.
