Hello, all you Bite Blog readers!!
Another Thursday, another week done. Finally the weather has gotten from light jacket to sweater weather and I love it!! More time to hang out, and since it's warmer outside, I have no excuse not to hang out with my friends who are away for school!!
Last night, my friend Reham did a webcast on Ryerson radio called "UNSIGNED", which is an hour-long segment dedicated to indie bands and bands who are talented yet unsigned (hence the name).

So last night I took time off my homework to ask her a few questions as to what her deal is with indie bands. Here's what she had to say: "Like many people, I’m sick of the radio and hearing the same song on the same station every two hours. I feel that indie artists have so much to offer and have so much potential, they just need the support. I also love the fact that many of the talented bands I play on my show are so close to home."
Being her friend, I know how in love with illScarlett she is!! She's been to a bunch of their shows and I've gone with her and our friend Amanda once and yes they were awesome!!!
I actually called into Reham's show last night and requested an illScarlett song to go out to her and Amanda because they love them!! About 5 minutes later, Amanda had called in and requested an Everything At Once song for me!! She's so cute- but since they are a signed band, Everything At Once couldn't get played on her show, BUT they still got an honourable mention (from yours truly) regarding their show in Hamilton on May 6 at The Underground, and May 9 in Toronto at the Horseshoe!! (hehe I love that band)
Reham loves other indie bands such as The Next Best Thing, Rumsfield, The Flatliners, Dreamcoil (who have played a live set on "UNSIGNED"- they're awesome), Keepin6, White Elephant, First Time Fallen, Faithdown (who has played with Everything at Once), The Imports, The Livid, Eden Ants (saw them live with JENN!!!- they're also awesome), Cheap Suits, etc... Have you heard of any of these bands? If you haven't you're missing out on unsigned Canadian talent!!
This doesn't mean that she doesn't listen to major bands such as Sublime, Nirvana, Metric, System of a Down, Foo Fighters, etc... but she still has a place for indie bands in her heart. <3 awww :)
If you like indie bands, you can contact Reham on myspace
(mypace.com/ree517) and send her your feedback!! You can find the link to her radio show on her page!! Everyone seems to have a myspace page these days, but it's a good way of sending your feedback to people, keeping in touch with friends and family, networking, or stalking people- either way- everyone seems to have one!
I listen to her show every Wednesday at 8-9pm while I'm writing and reading. Last night I was painting my toenails and watching her webcast- hehe :)
Yeah, can you tell that it's been MONTHS since I've seen this girl- I MISS YOU REHAM- HANGOUTS SOON,'kay??
That was my blog for the week.
SEE YA!!
