Everybody has them... those little bits of pop culture that you make fun of to everyone else but when you're alone you indulge in, actually you can't get enough of... but you'd die if anyone found out about them... they're guilty pleasures and right here, right now i'm coming clean.

Yup... you recognize the two lovely ladies above; Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel, better known to everyone as The Gilmore Girls. I've been watching the Gilmore Girls off and on since it hit television screens across the world years ago... but now it's fallen right in with Monday Night RAW, Ultimate Fighter, Family Guy, and Smackdown as my weekly Must See TV!!! Sure, it's an unlikely little combo I have going, and sure the Gilmore Girls may aim at a female demographic but c'mon it's Lauren Graham!

IMHO one of the hottest women on television, and her character of Lorelai Gilmore is the television poster girl for a 'Yummy Mummy' or MILF! Whichever way you slice it she's just absolutely gorgeous.
But lest we not forget little Rory Gilmore, who as of recent seasons may not subscribe to the aforementioned 'little' nickname. Alexis Bledel has grown from a Danica McKellar (AKA Whinnie Cooper) 'Girl Next Door' type of awkward cuteness into an absolute beauty.

And imagine my surprise being a tried and true fan of the series to see Little Rory pop up as the backstabbing, two-faced whore Becky in Robert Rodriguez's spectacular big screen adaptation of Frank Miller's SIN CITY.
"My little girl's all growns up!! She’s all growns up and she's all growns up!!!"Actually the girls have managed to find surprisingly unwholesome roles in a series of well known flicks including Lauren's role in as a Santa Loving barmaid in Billy Bob's X-mas flick BAD SANTA.

If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend this flick for it's bizarre dark humour and anti-Christmas flavour, then again perhaps I just enjoyed it so much cause I despise Christmas... but that's another topic for another blog.
Nonetheless, there is merit to this show aside from the two leading ladies. The show is well written with a cast of strong supporting players and although there is a strong cheese factor and an even stronger wholesome full house-esque morality that plays in every once in a while the writing and dialogue outdo any shortcomings in the actual tone of the program. I'm talking snappy dialogue not heard nor seen on TV since the likes of Dawson's Creek!

Remember that show? Remember when Katie Holmes and her crooked smile was considered cute, previous to going insane with good ol'Tommy boy? Lorelai and Rory outdo Joey hands down, and I'd take Lauren Graham over Katie Holmes any day of the week.

So there ya go, The Gilmore Girls... my guilty TV pleasure, what's yours? Dare to share?
In my next blog I'll be Dancin' on the Ceiling into my guilty music pleasures... Fanilow's unite cause we're together forever and never to part!
