LA Weekly1 Comedy Spotlight: Chris Hardwick

It would be a disservice to call Chris Hardwick a “nerd’s comedian,” but hosting a podcast called The Nerdist, as well as stints hosting Weird Science, and The Talking Dead, don’t help to shake that reputation.

The truth is Hardwick is just smart and wickedly funny, and if that makes you a nerd, he probably doesn’t resent it. In fact, his book The Nerdist Way: How to Reach the Next Level (In Real Life) applies nerd culture to self-help, devising trophy and reward systems to help motivate weight loss or career milestones.

Here are a couple of flash facts you might not have known about Hardwick.

- He appeared in an episode of Married… with Children
- He once dated Lisa Loeb
- He provided the voice of Green Arrow on the television show The Batman
- He writes articles for Wired Magazine
- Proud player of the Melodica (basically a piano you blow into)

Listen, Hardwick Rob Mailloux and Empire Comedy Live will be performing this Friday Feb. 10 and Saturday February 11 at Comedy Bar with shows at 8 and 10pm. Right now all the shows are sold out, sorry, slowpoke!

You can also catch him on Jimmy Fallon Thursday February 9. Finally, Hardwick will be taping his debut special for Comedy Central in New York City on February 17th. Visit Nerdist.Com for free tickets.

Alright, let’s get to the videos, shall we?
